Hello world, my name is Ryan. I was born at 11:05 pm on 5/26/06 after struggling to remain in the womb as long as possible, most likely due to an identity crisis.

Although the ultrasound had set expecations for a boy (and for a boy my parents planned), my first surprise for them of what will assuredly be many was quite the doozy.

One minute after I entered this world, while snuggling on Mom’s chest, the doctor made a curious statement, “this kid’s got indoor plumbing.” Which of course to the non-obgyn means, “you’re holding a GIRL. SURPRISE!!!!”

While I knew this all along, apparently this came as quite a surprise to Mom and Dad.

As it turns out, I am a 19.5 inch, 7 lb 7 oz, healthy baby girl and my parents couldn’t be happier!
